He left the 99 for you

When you look back on your life – let’s call it your BC (Before Christ) days. What is your story? How did Jesus come and find you?

There are many parables in the Bible where Jesus left His flock to chase that one astray such as in Luke 15:4-5. When you look back on your own life – think about how long Jesus searched just for you. He left His own flock to come and find you. He is a good Father and He cares about all his children – including you.

We read in John 10:11-14 about the good shepherd and how the sheep recognises the shepherds’ voice. When you sometimes get lost in worldly things and wonder off into the unknown it’s hard to hear how your heavenly Father is calling you to come home. It’s never too late for you to hear His voice.

Below are three lessons we can learn about these parables of the lost sheep;

  1. God loves you more than you can imagine - You are so important to God that if you leave Him by choosing to live your life without Him, He will follow you to the ends of the earth. He stays by your side, no matter if you acknowledge Him or not. There’s nothing you can do that will stop Him from loving you (Mat 28:20)

  1. You are welcome to His Kingdom -Always - The moment you choose to turn to Him, He’ll open His arms and celebrate your return. His greatest joy is having one of His lost return home. (Luke 14:7)

  1. God never gives up on you – never! - No matter how long you stray or what you’ve done, God has mercy on those who ask for forgiveness. His mercy endures forever. You are His child. All you have to do is come home to Him. (Luke 7:47)

As I mentioned in the beginning – What is your story and how did Jesus come and find you? I encourage you today if you feel a little lost – Just listen for His voice. Pray and ask Him to find you. If you know someone that still needs to hear His voice today – pray for them as well
